Batman: Arkham Knight voice cast adds actors from Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights, Fringe

A slew of well-known screen actors are lending their talents to Batman: Arkham Knight’s heroes and villains, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today.

Jonathan Banks, the stoic, gravelly-voiced actor who played Mike Ehrmantraut on Breaking Bad and is currently starring in the same role on its prequel, Better Call Saul, is the voice of Gotham Police Department commissioner Jim Gordon. Scott Porter, perhaps best known as Friday Night Lights’ Jason Street, voices Nightwing. This isn’t Porter’s first video game role; he also starred as Luke in The Walking Dead: Season Two.

Ashley Greene of the Twilight films voices the character of Barbara Gordon, aka Oracle, the wheelchair-bound information broker. And Arkham Knight’s rogues’ gallery is getting classed up with the addition of Fringe’s John Noble as Scarecrow. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced the new cast members along with a six-minute behind-the-scenes video featuring interviews with each actor.

“The man’s a psychopath, seriously,” said Noble. “But he’s also brilliant!”

Greene noted that while previous games in the Arkham series have featured Oracle’s voice — courtesy of voice actress Kimberly Brooks — the character will appear on-screen for the first time in Arkham Knight.

Those four screen actors are joining Arkham Knight’s cast of legendary voice actors: Kevin Conroy, returning to the role of Batman; Tara Strong as Harley Quinn; Troy Baker as Two-Face; and Nolan North as Penguin.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be released June 23 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. Its Premium Edition, which costs $40 extra, includes a DLC season pass that allows you to play as Batgirl. For more, check out the recent trailer below.
